Collection & Delivery Service Launch
We are really pleased to announce an exciting business development and partnership that will help many riders with active travel, commuting, time, and reducing dependence on the car.
We have teamed up with Lakes Electric Vehicle Delivery to offer a door to door service that allows you bike to be collected fully assembled, and delivered ready to ride. We see three scenarios where riders will really benefit from this new service.
1. A standard collection and drop off service that serves the wider countryside and for households that are short on time, struggle to meet our opening hours, or have difficulty loading bike, or bikes into a vehicle.
2. Buying a new bike from the internet. This is by far the best way to buy a bike today, but it does mean that you will need to do some final assembly, maybe set the correct dimensions for the perfect fit and dispose of all the packaging. With our service you can have your new bike delivered to us, we will build it, safety check everything, make any adjustments or customisations you require, dispose off the packaging and then delivery your bike to you, ready to ride.
3. Transport of dangerous items like batteries and suspension. Our on site suspension service is great, but if you can't get to us, you may need to choose one of the national service centres. Sending pressurised gas can get complicated and expensive, and often demands special packing and couriers.
Ourselves and Lakes Electric Delivery Service (LEDS) are fully trained and insured for the transport off all possibilities.
Compressed Gas, Batteries, eBikes, Cargo Bikes, race bikes, mountain bikes, commuter bikes, and fleets of bikes can all use this service.
We have set up a standard rate offer of £20 for one way transport within a service area and within a 7 day timescale. For priority jobs we can quote separately. This is for a journey and if for as many bikes as we can fit.
The van is 2.10 meters internally and can carry about 5 regular bikes in a fully assembled and ready to ride state. For bigger Electric Mountain Bikes and Enduro bikes, 4 would fit well. For eCargo bikes please check you are shorter than 2.1m in total length. We can also transport recumbent bikes, tricycles and hand cycles.
